Blink-182 owned Brixton Academy

Despite not releasing an album since 2011; Blink-182 were announced as Reading and Leeds headliners; following that announcement, it was then confirmed that the band would play Brixton Academy.

Brixton Academy was packed to the brim with diehard Blink fans; there was a good mix of ages but the majority of the crowd seemed to be those who were in their teens when Enema Of The State broke into the mainstream.

Blink-182 were welcomed to the stage by thunderous applause and wasted no time in launching into Feeling This which sent the crowd swaying and jumping all over the place. That was followed by their fifteen year old hit What's My Age Again..

Both Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus seem incredibly charismatic and charming whilst talking to the crowd, which was essentially them talking shit and making dick jokes, whilst Travis sat quietly at the back of the stage.

Blink-182's set was made up of fan favourites including I Miss You, Rock Show and Dammit. The highlight of the night came in the form of All The Small Things which sent the crowd into an absolute frenzy.

Mark and Tom's children appeared on stage to throw out plectrums and drumsticks to their fathers' adoring fans. It was a touching and intimate moment, which was quickly followed by Mark announcing "Okay guys, we're done, bye!".

After a few minutes Blink-182 returned, their backdrop made complete by the bands famous flaming fuck sign. The crowd was treated to a mini drum solo from Travis before launching into Violence .

Family Reunion was the closing song of the night which seemed like the perfect number to wrap up their set. Blink-182 showed all at Brixton Academy that they're still top of their game.

During their impressive set; Blink-182 proved they were still young at heart, they appeared playful on stage and as though they were having the time of their lives. Blink-182 were on great form and there's no doubt in my mind that a single person left feeling disappointed with their Friday night.
