Von Hertzen Brothers return to London

Finnish siblings returned to the UK to play two special shows, the trio played their second night in London.

Von Hertzen Brothers had a weirdly early stage time of 8:30, which I’m sure, caught a few people off guard as The Underworld seemed to get busier around 9pm.

VHB wasted no time in kicking things off with New Day Rising; the title track from their latest album which was released earlier this year. The crowd lapped this up and it seemed to be the perfect opening number.

Highlights of their set included Dream; one of their more light hearted tracks which you can’t help but tap your foot to and Flowers And Rust which was a definite fan favourite, and led to the whole crowd singing along.

The boys put on a slick and polished show, frontman Mikko is a strong vocalist who can take on sad songs with soft tones, but also has the ability to belt out rockier songs and seamlessly switch between the two vocal styles.

Whilst Von Hertzen Brothers may not have won anything at this year’s Prog Awards, there was not doubting the fact that they won over Friday night’s crowd. It is great to watch this band go from strength to strength, and we hope it is not too long before they are back on British soil.
