Something for all the family: Evergrey!
As time drags on in the main hall, both the crowds and the frequency of band banners increase as bands feel the need to plaster the stage with their name. Whereas yesterday bands were happy to play against the plain black background, the Saturday line-up prefer their own banners to be behind their backs.

All, that is, apart from Evergrey. After the disappointing Edenbridge set, Evergrey are a refreshing change. Its also nice to hear a growling, decidedly male voice after so many bands fronted by women who are unable to find the power to get their voice heard over the rest of the band.

Evergrey haven’t even played in the UK five times, but they put on an astounding set. With gloriously varied guitars they managed to capture the attention of the Main Hall effortlessly and keep it until they walk back offstage. Sharp vocal work means that the large crowd assembled is kept on its toes whilst the bass keeps their hands punching the air happily.
Putting on the kind of set that appears in the dreams of fledgling metal bands, Evergrey somehow manage to please everyone assembled to watch and truly are the masters of variety and are more than capable of catering for every type of metal fan. Regardless of your preference for heavy riffs, growling vocals that smooth out in a second to become soft croons or just a good band to watch with a beer in hand, there is something for everyone within this band.
