Energy and fun to start the night

Opening the night at Badgerjam, an Oxjam event, four scruffy white boys strolled through the room, dressed in a mismatched combination of bright colours and patterns and took the stage, frontman Will sporting a crumpled hat with a long fringe poking out. They sorted themselves out and when they turned and started to play, no one was surprised to hear a blend of reggae/ska pop straight out of the 90s.

As expected songs rose up and crashed down in intensity all the while the band emanating a throbbing energy and loads of fun. The beats were pumping as they drew in the crowd, the room filling with interested onlookers as the set progressed.

The writer of some of their songs joined them on stage for a few; wandering around playing tambourine and, bizarrely, doing card tricks. In the end he just added to the oddity and the fun.

They ended with a long drawn out song about sitting around eating and smoking and just enjoying themselves. At one point all band members gathered at the drums and played a little drummer verses everyone else on the drum kit, before returning to full guitars, bass and keyboard to round out the track and the set to an appreciative crowd.
