Soil at Soil & Puddle of Mudd
Music fans would have been in grunge heaven on Friday night in Southampton as Soil came to town.
If it wasn't good enough that they were playing a relatively small venue, there was the added bonus that original singer Ryan McCombs was back in the line-up, and there appeared to be no animosity between the band, it looked like they were all just there to have fun and put on a good show.
With McCombs back in the fold they opened their set with the killer track 'Breaking Me Down' which the crowd lapped up, and sang along word perfectly, despite it looking like McCombs faltered a couple of times. Their hard edge went down well, and fans got exactly what they came for.

Although the crowd interaction was great, Soil referred to the ten year anniversary of 'Scars' a tad too much for my liking, all it seem to do was explain why the band can drink copious amounts of alcohol and still play perfectly to those not familiar with their work.

Songs such as 'Halo', 'Redefine' and 'Wide Open' were a guaranteed success, and sure enough, the band did not fail to impress. I'm not sure if McCombs return to Soil is a permanent move, but if their show in Southampton is anything to go by, it definitely should be.
