Tremonti UK Tour 2013

Tremonti introduced themselves to the UK supporting Slash on tour in October of last year; now they're back and playing headline shows.

The Electric Ballroom was packed by the time Tremonti hit the stage and by the amount of people wearing band t-shirts in the crowd, it was obvious that a lot of those in attendance were fans of his earlier work with Creed and Alter Bridge.

All I Was; Tremonti's debut album was played in its entirety with Tremonti's vocals sounding as good live as they do on the record. Their set was opened with Leave It Alone, which judging by the reaction it received, is a fan favourite.

Garrett Whitlock's drum work sounded far more intense in a live setting than it does on the album; he demonstrated some incredible execution and proved himself to be an asset to the band, who seemed to have a constant double kick going on.

As a live band, Tremonti are an extremely tight unit, who sound just as good live as they do on record. Their execution was perfect and heaps of energy came pouring off of the stage.

Despite their musical talent and abilities, Mark Tremonti lacks something as a frontman. He had a huge grin throughout their set but he wasn't engaging and did not hold my attention, which is a shame because he is an incredible guitarist, but there's something about his personality that doesn't transcend into being an impressive frontman at a live show. However, that is my only complaint about Tremonti and I have no doubt that their popularity will continue to grow.
