Patent Pending - An Acoustic Farewell Live At Union Chapel

Once again, Patent Pending find themselves on tour and supporting Bowling For Soup, however, this show was a little different as they found themselves in a chapel playing an acoustic show.

Having seen Patent Pending a number of times as a full band, I wasn't entirely sure how they would come across as a three-piece in a more subdued setting but they did a fantastic job.

The crowd seemed thoroughly entertained while sat in the pews as Patent Pending played their delightful blend of pop punk. While the crowd were not as rowdy as I've previously seen them at a PP show (perhaps the Chapel being an alcohol-free zone had something to do with that), it didn't stop frontman Joe Ragosta from crowdsurfing amongst the pews while everyone was sat down in them – I have no idea how he or anyone in the crowd didn't get hurt, perhaps it was an act of God?

Patent Pending put on a great show and it was nice to see them in a different light and doing something new. During their set it was announced that they would be back in April with People On Vacation (a duo made up of Jaret Reddick from Bowling For Soup and Ryan Hamilton), while it will be great to have them back, I can't help but think it is time they stepped out of the shadow of Bowling For Soup and found their own path.
