Over the course of the last month we've had four bands as our Band of the Week on our MySpace page; Sidecar46, The Moths!, James Yuill and This City. Now it's time to use the poll on our page to vote for your favourite! The most popular track from each band is on our player throughout this week (along with this week's featured band, Arty Karate). So, have a listen and cast your vote!

This City
This City have been already been described in review as "like The Travelling Wilburys if it was made of members of Bloc Party and At The Drive In". Maybe if you throw in the eyeball-popping nuances of Blood Brothers, the same turn-on-a-sixpence disco-jerk rhythms of the more danceable end of punk (think Les Savy Fav or !Forward Russia!), the impassioned cacophony of mid 80s Dischord Records-led emotional hardcore, the pop sensibility of tykes such as The Automatic and subtract the reference to Tom Petty and co, we might just be inclined to agree…

Sounds like: Indie-Disco-Hardcore

James Yuill
Like many music lovers of his generation James Yuill has a passion for both the emotional songwriting and atmospheres of artists such as Nick Drake, Radiohead and Sufjan Stevens and the visceral beats and dynamic rhythms of Justice, Chemical Brothers and Aphex Twin. Unlike anyone else however, James has fused these seemingly disparate influences into a magical sound of his very own.
Sounds like: Nick Drake with hard dance beats...like folktronica but more house!

The Moths!
The Moths! is the exhilarating brain-child of west-London song writing duo James Fox (lyrics, lead vocals) and Dave Lightfoot (guitars, music) who, with help from producer Jon Vick, started writing and recording songs together in a bedroom studio in August 2006 before evolving into a full live band in April 2007
Drawing comparisons with the Human League, Wire, the Buzzcocks and early Adam and the Ants, the Moths! make poetic indie, new wave, post-punk pop with the emphasis on clever lyrics and instantly memorable guitar riffs.
Sounds like: Pop noir

Sidecar 46
Sidecar46 formed in 2003 as a joke band to see Robert Bray, Daniel Fellows and Andrew Convey through their college course in Rugby, Warwickshire. When the course finished in 2005 the boys went their separate ways, playing in other bands, and it was not until their old college tutor John Ruston got into contact with Robert and recommend that he take Sidecar46 seriously that they started writing together again. After a lot of rehearsing and song writing, Sidecar46 started touring the UK in 2006 to promote their first E.P. 'paper vs scissor vs rock vs glue'. They were playing in venues such as 'The Night and Day Cafe' in Manchester, 'The Coliseum' in Coventry, 'The Hope and Anchor' in London and 'The Joiners' in Southampton, playing alongside big names such as New Model Army and Fony.In late 2006, Robert, Daniel and Andrew all moved to Southampton to start University. The lads instantly set to work making a name for themselves on the south coast being hailed as "one of the most impressive live bands to play on this stage" at the Joiners. 2007 saw Sidecar46 release their second E.P. 'Why do I still do this everyday?'
Sounds like:
A heavy alternative indie sound, with a bit of metal, grunge, punk and funk thrown in. 'mixing grunge, punk, rock and Incubus' (Melissa Lewis, Review of Sidecar46 at The Joiners)
