An unwelcome resurrection

Nu-metal is dead. I know that, you know that, even those remote Japanese soldiers who thought that World War II was still going on into the ‘60s know it - it’s hardly breaking news. Hailing from the detached wilderness of South London, you would’ve thought that <209> would know too, but apparently not.
‘Trigger’ is exactly what you’d expect from a band whose debut single was subtly entitled ‘Bitch’; ‘tough’ guy rock with crunchy metallic riffs and Americanised rapping, replete with clichéd lyrics such as the authoritative “stand up, be counted!” or the mysterious “don’t think you know me!”.

Three of their tracks are apparently being used for MTV’s ‘Real World’ show (whatever the hell that is) and Sony are using them to promote their new NetMD walkman, so there must be an audience for this inanity. Maybe, if you like wrestling and wear tracksuits even when not playing sport, then that audience might be you. Just sod off and listen to it somewhere else you chav.
