Sandi Thom wonders (as every girl has) just what happens if Mr Perfect isn't so perfect after all...
In all honesty, you would have to have been living under a stone for the past few months to have not heard Sandi Thom's debut single, 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker'. In less than ten weeks after signing to the RCA Label group, Thom was riding high at the top of the I-Tunes UK download chart and the UK singles chart with her seamless blending of folk and soul influences, spawned from her love of artists such as Bob Dylan and Carol King, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. If that wasn't enough, her debut album, 'Smile... It Confuses People' also topped the album charts, selling just short of 300,000 copies so far. If like me, you're currently being driven mad by the fact that 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker' seems to be practically on loop on many radio stations, you can breathe a sigh of relief as Sandi releases the follow up, 'What If I'm Right' on August 28th.
Owing more perhaps to pop singers like Pink or Kelly Clarkson than Dylan or Buckley this time round, 'What If I'm Right' is a classic girly pop song, that wonders (as every girl has at some point) just what happens when Mr Perfect turns out to be not quite so perfect after all. With its gutsy harmonica, hand-clapped beats and powerful vocals, expect this single to receive just as much airplay as the first.
Sandi Thom sets off to try and put a smile on the face of America this month, but returns in October for a full UK tour.
