Biography

Kingsize is a London-based, loveable quartet of young talented hit-makers in the making. Having plunderd the archives of 60 years of the best rock 'n' roll music, from Elvis, The Kinks, The Clash, The Cure, to more recent acts such as the Kings Of Leon and The Strokes, Kingsize are ready to deliver you a refreshing take on the genre, with their soon to be released debut LP 'Love, Lust And Other Disasters', out on Weekender Records this Summer.

Recorded in Berlin and London, the album varies from fast paced, catchy two-minute pop gems to slower ballads, assimilating all their influences into 44 minutes of pure aural pleasure. The common denominator is the band's dedication to the fine art of melody making. The importance of melody cannot be underestimated, which, in tandem with the lyrics' honest tales of the heart, form the emotional centre of our songs. They marry an indie-rock sound with a pop sensibility that will leave the audience humming our tunes for days (if not weeks) after they have left the show.

The shows in themselves are loud, brash, exciting affairs. Usually starting with a modicum of dignity before descending into a beautifully chaotic, sweaty mess by the end. It's all about having fun on stage, and inviting the crowd to do the same.

Over the last few years, Kingsize have supported and toured with the following brilliant acts: Ash, The Pigeon Detectives, White Lies, The Subways, Florence and the Machine, Little Man Tate, Dogs, Five O'Clock Heroes, Blood Red Shoes, The Ataris, Eagle Seagull, Reverend & The Makers.
