These kids’ll cause a frontpage outrage!
The EP opens with “Frontpage Outrage”- a tight song with good rhythm and sharp axe work. All fired up by the husky voice of front man Richie Hudson, this number has a sound that says “take me home, but don’t show me to your parents”.
“Relationshipwreck” is a more upbeat track with a lighter chorus, but in between you can still hear Richie almost eat the mic. This is a voice that has seduction in every syllable.
Good axe work holds “I Don’t Mind (You Don’t Matter)”- a tight well-written piece that has a chorus that will drill itself into your head. And with bassist Al Hudson on vox, it adds a different slant to this sharp band. “Forever Autumn” has the band giving this Jeff Wayne number the treatment that puts their own mark on it. But, it does, however seem out of place when you consider how well the band write and perform their own material.
