A stellar explosion of spacey psychedelic rock launches you head first into the latest stunning track from eclectic five-piece, Pure Reason Revolution. As a big dirty riff winds alongside spaced out, honey-drenched vocals and glorious harmonies the song's progressive quality shines through in its climax of majestic strings and keyboards. As drums pound frantically in heart-stopping rhythms and twinkling synths contrast beautifully with driving indie electric guitar, a sudden shift slows the track down into an intergalactic haze of electronic noises before finally rocketing you right back into the powerful melody.
Listing their idols as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Super Furry Animals and The Beach Boys (echoes of whom can all be found somewhere in this track) it's no wonder that this is a band who aim big and who succeed in creating a fabulous example of modern prog rock. Even if you don't consider this to be your genre of choice (and I certainly don't), it's hard not to become absorbed by the spacey splendour of 'The Intention Craft'. Also, for all those who couldn't quite stomach the twelve minute marathon of the band's previous single, 'The Bright Ambassadors of Morning', you'll be reassured to know that all of this is elegantly squeezed into a mere four minutes and thirteen seconds. Nice.
