Ascending Descendents
For those of you who haven't heard of The Descendents, this album will have you out looking for their back numbers. These guys could always take on the mantle of the purveyors of punk when they were starting off.
With two of the earlier line up, Milo and Bill, they have teamed up with Karl and Stephen and exploded back into the music scene with 'Cool To Be You'. This album is their first for 7 years, and you'll find that those years have not taken their toll on their superb sound. It may be a bit more rounded, but they haven't lost any of their brashness.
All the songs have lyrics that hit you from, 'We flipped the finger to the King of England' and the self depreciating 'I'm just another stupid American' on the track 'Merican' to the 'don't know what this scenes about, don't tell me to mellow out' of 'Mass Nerder'.
This album is full of all the knuckle duster style of this band and is a classy example of its genre. They don't slow down for anyone or anything and will bulldozer their way in to your brain. The Descendents are ascending once more!
