A Sound That Sticks

‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’ is full of the sound that is The Libertines- energy, enthusiasm and in your face music. The sound they have here is fresh and boy do they flaunt it! With a teaser of an intro they lead you through lyrics and a stripped to the bone demo of how this music should be.

‘Skint And Minted’ has that British dancehall edge to its sound. Carl’s vocal work here has him making love to the mic, whilst you can hear the rest of the band are lost in their music. An excellent ‘bunked off school’ sound!

Whereas ‘Mockingbird’ has all the rockabilly rhythm it could need whilst being distinctive enough in its own right. It’s such an unexpected surprise from the four tearaways!
