Coastal Blues.
Dirty, screechy, grab-you-by-the-short-n-curlies guitars kick start this blinding track from hot Brighton act Puscha. Instantly I'm hooked. Fuzzy distortion and amps that sound so warm you just wanna crawl inside one and curl-up. Well maybe that's just me. Either way, this is a tune to be turned up to 11.
Like fellow Brighton act The Mutts, both have cornered that bluesy-pop-rock sound which should rightfully see them carve a name for themselves amongst the current Brit-rock elite. Unlike The Mutts who, although great, are just a little too much like a pastiche of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Puscha have managed to both achieve an instantly familiar sound that is totally original! I know, I know, that's an oxymoron, but I promise you it's true!
As the second single off debut album "Steal Your Life Back", "Show Me What Love Is" is an aptly riff-driven track which cements their image as that of pure rock 'n' roll, particularly if tales of their live shows are to be taken as true. It also kick starts 2005, and hopefully should see "Steal Your Life Back" begin it's viral attack on the rest of the UK. There's obviously something in the water down in Brighton, and it's high-time the rest of the UK caught on. What we need is a band, a beacon to light the way and Puscha might be just that act!
