Fitting the pieces together
The guitarist did annoy me. It took me a couple of minutes to realise that Jigsaw Culture hadn’t actually started yet, and that the man with the axe was simply solo jamming while he (im)patiently waited for the rest of the three-piece to finish readying their equipment.

Onstage, the band power through half an hour of instrumental experimental weirdness, ranging from beautifully melodic to breathtakingly heavy. With shades of both Dream Theater and The Mars Volta, Jigsaw Culture might not be the most exciting performers in the world, but their unique sound more than makes up for it.
