Bullet for my Valentine
This Bridgend metal four-piece just rocked the Mean Fiddler on that (oh so special) Valentine’s Day.
Bringing your girlfriend to that gig would not have been the most romantic idea unless she loves being jumped over by crazed fans! However, being there was the definitive thing to do on THAT day. (Maybe more so if you were single so that you did not have to spend the night watching depressing TV programs alone in your room!)
No doubt: the band had loads of energy, the guitar riffs were there, they were interacting with the crowd but one thing was missing. You can not blame the band for that but there was a little "something" missing during the show. That "something" is what transports you to another level, another dimension when you are attending a gig. You can not explain it properly but you know you are listening to a great stuff when you feel that it is more than you standing in the pit or wherever and listening to your favourite band.
Bullet for my Valentine is not having (yet) that magical touch on me. They probably have a lack of experience (though being together and in the industry for seven years) and they will surely get it while moving on in their career in the metal scene. Hey they’re still young after all! You cannot expect them to be as good as the legends like Pantera or Iron Maiden!
Of course they rocked the place and the fans just loved seeing them on stage but still, it was a bit flat. But we should see them in some years and they will get that charisma! They really know how to play the guitar, the solos were brilliant and as they will get along... WOW ! They will definitely be the next big thing in the years to come.
Moreover the sound quality was not the best as you could not really hear them clearly.
But still you cannot say the contrary: the band was enjoying itself on stage; the lads were having fun just as the crowd who felt that they were with them 100%. They offered us a preview of what their new single will be: "Four words (to choke upon)".
And as long as everyone finds its pleasure and has a good time... it is the main thing, isn’t it?
