The Sound of the Underground

A rumbling drum roll and eerie samples announce Unearth's entrance. By the time the vocals start, I'm convinced they're working for Satan. At least I imagine that this is the elevator music in Hell. But this isn't just noise. This is seriously heavy but with not quite enough electronica to class it as industrial. Even to me, there is something terribly appealing about their music and it helps that the sound quality in the Snickers Stage is nothing less than superb.

Another interesting thing about Unearth is the audience they attract. Punks, metalheads and even the leftover indie kids from Friday packed into the tent. Unearth are the perfect warm-up for Anthrax on the main stage. Excellent timetable on Download's part...
