Bright young things The Mascara Story must be on such a high this weekend at the Download festival. Fresh from winning Kerrang's unsigned band competition, they won this prestigious first slot on the Snickers Stage at Download.
This is actually the second time I've seen them play this week. Having already watched them play at the Snickers Bowl. Pretty cool, they thought so too and obviously couldn't believe their luck exclaiming "How fucking cool to be playing Download with bikers doing their shit in front of us!"
Their presence on the second stage is just as strong. Their take on indie-rock with a hint of glam fills the tent alongside massive guitars. With a single due out next month, I think that Kerrang! and Download has changed their lives forever- deservedly so.
