Biography
Inspired by the now legendary DIY scene in their hometown of Boston, The Explosion’s founding members and high school pals Damian and Matt (together with recently departed guitarist Sam Cave and drummer Dan Colby) decided if other people could do it, they could too.Having played everywhere from their debut gig in a Masonic temple with NY hard boys Madball in Cambridge, MA, bowling alleys and “toilet” venues across the US, and also a one-off date with Sick of It All at London’s Astoria; the Massachusetts four-piece are a shining example of why their homeland is considered so legendary by some, and all but untouchable by others.
Following an extensive UK trek in January of this year – including dates with the likes of New Found Glory and Good Charlotte – the band return to British soil once more for their Donington debut in support of new album ‘Black Tape’.
